Rice, Guehi, and James Return to Training Before England’s World Cup Match with Norway

Declan Rice, Marc Guehi, and Reece James have returned to training for England ahead of their World Cup quarter-final showdown with Norway.

England’s World Cup preparations received a significant lift on Friday as Declan Rice, Marc Guehi, and Reece James rejoined the squad for training ahead of their quarter-final encounter with Norway.

Reece James had been sidelined for three matches due to a hamstring injury, forcing manager Thomas Tuchel to shuffle his options at right-back. The Chelsea captain is expected to reclaim his place in the starting eleven this Saturday, filling the void left by Jarell Quansah, who is serving a suspension following his red card in the 3-2 victory against Mexico.

Both Guehi and Rice participated in the full duration of the match in Mexico City but were absent from practice sessions on Wednesday alongside James. Tuchel confirmed the positive development during his press briefing, noting that his full squad is available for selection with the exception of the suspended Quansah. Reflecting on the team’s progress, the manager emphasized that while the win against Mexico was a milestone, the group remains focused on overcoming Norway to advance further in the tournament.

Marc Guehi, who plays for Manchester City, is managing a hamstring issue and may face his club teammate Erling Haaland if the Norwegian forward features in the match. Meanwhile, Declan Rice continues to recover from a hamstring concern and a recent bout of illness.
