Minister of Works David Umahi has rejected allegations from presidential candidate Peter Obi regarding death threats, labeling the claims as an expression of political frustration. While inspecting infrastructure projects in Ebonyi State, Umahi asserted that no one wishes harm upon the former Anambra governor.
Umahi warned that he would respond directly to any further verbal attacks Obi directs toward President Bola Tinubu. He claimed that Obi feels threatened by the tangible infrastructure developments implemented by the Tinubu administration in the South East, which he argues are eroding Obi’s support base in the region.
The Minister stated that he wants Obi to remain in the race to witness his defeat in future elections. He emphasized that the South East has shifted its support toward President Tinubu due to his commitment to regional projects. Umahi further challenged Obi to a debate regarding the current administration’s achievements and expressed his belief that Tinubu will hold office until 2031 to complete his national development agenda.
