The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Shamirah Nabadda from Uganda as the head referee for the upcoming 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier involving Benin Republic and Nigeria. Assisting her will be Fanta Idrissa Kone of Mali and Fides Bangurambona from Burundi.
Josephine Nantongo, also from Uganda, is designated as the reserve referee. The match will be overseen by Togolese match commissioner Aissata Ameyo, with Fatou Gaye from Senegal serving as the referee assessor.
The Nigerian team, known as the Flamingos, leads the series 3-2 following their victory in the opening leg. Coach Akeem Busari and his squad reached Lome this past Friday. The decisive match is scheduled for Saturday at the Stade de Kegue in Lome.
