The Imo State Police Command announced the arrest of 184 individuals linked to various criminal activities. During these operations, police rescued three kidnap victims and seized two human skulls alongside a cache of weapons, including AK-47 rifles.
Commissioner of Police Audu Garba Bosso confirmed these details at the Command Headquarters in Owerri. The suspects face charges ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, and terrorism to sexual assault and murder. The recovered inventory includes 11 AK-47 magazines, several M16 magazines, pistols, and over 380 rounds of assorted ammunition.
Intelligence reports led officers to a hideout in the Egbema creek of Rivers State, where they dismantled criminal camps. This gang was also linked to the May 16, 2026, murder of two Imo State Homeland Security personnel. Police are currently working to locate remaining members of this group.
In unrelated cases, 58-year-old Nduka Iheme was detained for allegedly sexually abusing two minors, while 19-year-old Chijoke Johnson was arrested for the defilement of an eight-year-old girl. Commissioner Bosso stated that these arrests highlight the Command’s determination to eliminate criminal safe havens in the state, while urging citizens to continue sharing intelligence to ensure public safety.
