The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has cautioned Nigerians and the youth specifically against participating in thuggery or electoral violence during the 2027 general elections. During a meeting with 36 All Progressives Congress (APC) state chairmen at his Iga-Idungaran Palace, the monarch emphasized that national development depends on maintaining peace and rejecting hate speech.

Oba Akiolu expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu, predicting a decisive victory for the incumbent in the 2027 elections.
