Burna Boy Responds to Backlash Following Massive Bugatti Expenditure

Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has addressed public criticism regarding his 9 billion naira Bugatti purchase, defending his choice during a performance in Portugal.

Nigerian musical artist Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, recently addressed the negative feedback surrounding his acquisition of a custom Venuum Widebody Bugatti Chiron, a vehicle valued at approximately 9 billion naira. Following the reveal of his purchase, the Grammy award winner faced significant scrutiny from individuals claiming he should have prioritized charitable contributions or business investments over luxury items. Furthermore, detractors questioned the utility of bringing such a high-performance car into Nigeria, citing the poor state of the nation’s road infrastructure.

The artist took the opportunity to silence his detractors during his performance at the Afronation concert in Portugal this past Friday. Through a freestyle verse, he humorously dismissed concerns regarding road conditions, suggesting his critics were ignoring the ongoing progress of construction companies like Julius Berger. This incident follows a previous period of intense media coverage involving socialite Sophia Egbueje, who publicly claimed the singer failed to gift her a Lamborghini. While Burna Boy never verified those allegations, he notably addressed the situation in his track No Do, ultimately prompting Egbueje to purchase the vehicle for herself.
