Mohamed Salah Recovers to Lead Egypt Against Australia in World Cup Round of 32

Mohamed Salah returns to the starting lineup for Egypt’s World Cup clash with Australia in Texas despite concerns over a recent hamstring injury.

Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah has been cleared to start in Friday’s World Cup knockout match against Australia in Arlington, Texas. The veteran forward had been dealing with a hamstring issue that forced him to exit the field during Egypt’s group stage finale against Iran.

Head coach Hossam Hassan had expressed uncertainty regarding Salah’s availability just one day prior. Ultimately, the 34-year-old was included in the starting lineup alongside Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush. Salah has recorded one goal and two assists during this North American tournament.

Both Egypt and Australia are looking to secure their first-ever victory in a World Cup knockout phase at this game held at the Dallas Stadium. The victorious team will move on to play either Argentina or Cape Verde in the next stage of the competition.
