Chelsea finalize Wheeler-Henry sale as Manchester United pursue Araujo

Chelsea sells Joseph Wheeler-Henry to Brentford, while Manchester United explores a potential move for Uruguayan winger Maxi Araujo.

Chelsea officially announced on Thursday that defender Joseph Wheeler-Henry has moved to Brentford on a permanent basis. The player spent the latter portion of the previous season on loan with the Bees, which paved the way for this transition. Having joined Chelsea at the youth level as a 13-year-old, Wheeler-Henry eventually secured a professional contract at 17 and became a consistent figure within the club’s academy squads before this departure. Chelsea issued a brief statement extending their best wishes to the defender for his professional future.

Separately, Manchester United continues to track Uruguayan player Maxi Araujo. Reports from Calcio Mercato indicate that the Premier League side has initiated contact regarding the international’s availability. Although Araujo features a £70 million release clause in his contract, Manchester United aims to negotiate a reduced transfer price. Arsenal has also been linked with interest in the player, monitoring his status as well.
