President Bola Tinubu has formally cautioned contractors working on Federal Capital Territory projects that his administration prioritizes proven capability over political favoritism. He stated clearly that firms meeting their delivery deadlines will secure future contracts, while those underperforming will be removed from the list of government service providers.
This declaration was made during the unveiling of the rehabilitated Old Keffi Road, stretching from Kado Fish Market to Deidei. Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented the President at the ceremony, which coincided with the administration’s three-year milestone. The 16-kilometer road improvement project was specifically praised as a practical upgrade to local infrastructure that enhances safety and economic activity for residents.
Tinubu expressed confidence that the project’s completion serves as tangible proof of his commitment to national development. He noted that the new asphalt, drainage systems, and street lighting provide essential improvements to the daily lives of citizens in the area. The President further remarked that the FCT Minister is focused on efficient project execution, indicating that the administration will not tolerate delays that hinder progress.
