Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has praised Air Peace for its instrumental role in returning 533 stranded Nigerians from South Africa. She described the airline’s actions as a display of genuine patriotism and humanitarian commitment.
The evacuation was finalized on Tuesday when 271 citizens landed safely on a Boeing 777-200, a mission carried out alongside the Federal Government. This latest flight brought the total number of individuals rescued by the airline to 533 across two separate operations. According to Air Peace, this mission represented their 16th humanitarian effort.
In a statement from her Abuja media office, the senator lauded the airline’s management and staff for their dedication to national welfare. She noted that such cooperation between the government and private sector bolsters public trust and creates an effective response to crises. She urged other businesses to mirror this dedication to service.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan welcomed the returnees, expressing her wish for their successful integration and new beginnings within Nigeria. She further identified the airline as a national asset, asserting that its consistent history of assisting Nigerians in conflict zones has cemented its reputation for excellence and service.
