Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre Secures Top Oncology Award for Fourth Consecutive Year

The Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre has once again been honored as Nigeria’s most outstanding oncology facility, marking four straight years of industry recognition for its impact on patient care.

The Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre has successfully defended its status as Nigeria’s premier oncology facility, marking its fourth consecutive win as the Most Outstanding Oncology Centre. This recognition was presented at the 12th Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA) in Lagos, acknowledging the institution’s ongoing contributions to cancer management, innovation, and high-quality patient care.

Situated inside the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, the centre provides comprehensive oncology services, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy, establishing itself as a vital facility for the West African region. Dr. Muhammed Habeebu, the Chief Clinical Coordinator, accepted the award, highlighting that the achievement reflects the team’s persistent efforts to provide world-class medical services locally. By offering integrated treatment, the centre is actively reducing the reliance on overseas medical travel for Nigerian patients.

This ongoing success occurs as the nation faces increasing rates of cancer and emphasizes the need for domestic medical infrastructure. The event was attended by notable figures including the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Iziaq Adekunle Salako, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. The accolade reaffirms the role of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital as a critical pillar for advanced healthcare and research in the country.
