A 13-year-old Fulani girl has been reportedly r@ped to d@ath allegedly by local miners at the Tipper Garage area in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.

The council’s Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Ibrahim Ciroma, confirmed the incident to the Daily Trust on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

According to him, said the girl who went to hawk milk on Thursday, was declared missing.

Her corpse was found at the Tipper Garage area on Friday.

Ciroma said the corpse’s private parts were stained with blood and that it was taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed that she was raped.

“The incident has been reported to the police, and to God be the glory, some miners suspected to be behind the crime have been arrested,” he said.

It was gathered that the incident almost degenerated into a crisis as herders mobilised to the area in an attempt to attack the miners but the quick intervention of security agents doused the situation.

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the incident, said seven suspects had been arrested.
