eTranzact is widening the reach of its PocketMoni financial inclusion project in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. The company is currently registering over 1,000 agents and rolling out thousands of PocketMoni terminals throughout the region.
The effort, driven by the PocketMoni Business platform, aims to improve digital banking access in under-served areas while providing economic prospects for local residents and entrepreneurs. This project is a partnership with the Zonal Community Development Committee (CDC) of Obafemi Owode and aligns with eTranzact’s goal of bringing banking services closer to rural populations.
Residents can now perform essential tasks like money transfers, withdrawals, and utility payments without leaving their neighborhoods. Engineer Gboyega Kareem Adeleke, the Zonal CDC chairman, noted that the initiative is a major development for the local economy, as it removes the burden of traveling long distances for financial services.
Olalekan Disu, the Divisional Head of Financial Inclusion at eTranzact International Plc, stated that the project focuses on building trust and creating sustainable livelihoods. By empowering local agents, the company hopes to foster community growth and simplify the way people manage their money.
