Accord Party leader forecasts Adeleke win while denouncing election violence

Accord Party Lagos Chairman Dele Oladeji anticipates a landslide victory for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the Osun election and criticizes rising campaign violence.

Dele Oladeji, the Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, expects Governor Ademola Adeleke to claim between 90 and 95 percent of the vote in the upcoming Osun governorship election on August 15. Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, Oladeji cited the governor’s focus on public-interest policies as the primary driver behind his widespread popularity among citizens and members of rival political groups.

Despite expressing optimism about the election, Oladeji strongly criticized the recent surge in campaign-related violence. He maintained that such hostilities will not prevent Adeleke from securing a victory. Furthermore, Oladeji, who is bidding for the Lagos West senatorial seat in the 2027 elections, highlighted that he is prioritizing outreach to the youth demographic. By targeting young voters, who represent up to 70 percent of the district’s electorate, he remains confident in his own chances of success.
