Road accident in Niger claims five lives, leaves eight injured

A collision between a passenger trailer and a stationary tanker in Agaie, Niger State, has left five people dead and eight others hospitalized with injuries.

A tragic vehicle collision in Agaie, Niger State, resulted in five fatalities and eight serious injuries on Sunday. Hussaini Guregi, the NEMA desk officer for Agaie Local Government Area, verified the details of the incident.

The crash involved a trailer carrying roughly 40 passengers that was traveling from Gusau, Zamfara State, toward Shagamu, Ogun State. The vehicle collided with a tanker. According to Guregi, the tragedy was triggered when the trailer driver attempted to bypass a broken-down tanker parked on the road. The trailer lost control during this maneuver and crashed.

Emergency responders transported the eight injured individuals to the General Hospital in Agaie for medical care. The bodies of the five deceased victims were also moved to the hospital’s mortuary.
