Nigerian athlete Tobi Amusan maintained her excellent momentum by winning the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League this Sunday. She finished with a time of 12.28 seconds, which matches her best performance of the season.
This marks the third occasion this year that the world record holder has finished in exactly 12.28 seconds, showcasing her reliability in the Diamond League series. Racing at Stade Charléty, Amusan led the pack to take the top spot. American runner Grace Stark arrived second at 12.38 seconds, followed by Johnson, who completed the race in 12.39 seconds.
Amusan had already achieved this specific time at earlier meets in Xiamen and Rabat. Her latest victory serves as a strong signal of her form as the season nears its conclusion. The event took place under modified scheduling, as a heatwave in France led officials to scrap various smaller youth and club competitions.
Although track temperatures rose to 32 degrees Celsius, Amusan performed with authority. She started strongly and maintained a significant lead through the middle of the course, coasting to a comfortable finish. This triumph bolsters the standing of the 29-year-old as a top contender for the Diamond League Final, confirming her position among the elite sprint hurdlers globally.
