Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has praised security forces for their effective performance in the recent Operation Kosaye. The crackdown resulted in the detention of 88 individuals and the successful rescue of five kidnap victims across Lagos and Ogun states. Authorities also recovered various weapons and ammunition during the mission.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso confirmed that four suspects were killed during exchanges of fire with law enforcement. The governor expressed his satisfaction with the police leadership, specifically noting the guidance provided by Inspector-General Tunji Disu and the partnership between the two neighboring states.
Known as a mission to ensure there is no space for criminals, Operation Kosaye targets violent groups such as kidnappers and armed robbers throughout the South-West. Teams are currently searching forest regions near the Lagos-Ogun border, focusing on the J3/J4 area of Ogbere, to eliminate criminal hideouts.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the state’s commitment to safety, promising continued support for law enforcement via the Lagos State Security Trust Fund. He encouraged the public to assist by reporting suspicious activities and helping maintain a secure environment for all residents and visitors.
