A confrontation between farmers from Larabar Gadan Sarki and herders from Majawa and Karade communities in Kano State’s Warawa Local Government Area left twelve individuals wounded. Lamido Sunusi Ahmad, the local government chairman, confirmed the incident through a statement released by his media representative, Musleem Garindau.
Ahmad visited the wounded at Wudil General Hospital and mandated that the local government fund all medical expenses for their recovery. He praised local leaders and security forces for their rapid response, which successfully stabilized the area. The chairman requested that citizens avoid spreading misinformation and instead focus on peaceful conflict resolution.
Ibrahim Abdu Madari, the Vice Chairman, noted that the participants in the fight were all local to the region. The dispute originated when a cow entered a field and consumed crops. The subsequent physical altercation between the farmer and the cow’s owner triggered the broader violence. Officials continue to advocate for residents to maintain peace and utilize communication to settle future grievances.
