Sixty New Medical Graduates Welcomed into MDCN at Ambrose Alli University

Sixty medical graduates from Ambrose Alli University were officially inducted into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, with officials urging them to maintain high ethical standards and compassion.

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) officially inducted 60 recent graduates from the Ambrose Alli University (AAU) College of Medicine, Ekpoma. These doctors completed their studies during the 2021/2022 academic cycle. The induction ceremony took place at the university’s primary campus in Edo State, led by the MDCN Registrar, Professor Fatima Kyari.

Speaking on behalf of Professor Kyari, Dr. Tijani Mandaka administered the oath and emphasized the importance of professional ethics. He cautioned the graduates that any breach of medical standards would result in disciplinary action. The doctors were encouraged to prioritize patient care and compassion, while seeking additional professional guidance whenever they face complex medical cases.

The Vice-Chancellor of AAU, Professor Eunice Omoregie Omonzogie, praised Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo for his ongoing financial and infrastructural support, which has enabled the university to maintain consistent training schedules. She called on the inductees to serve as honorable representatives of the institution.

Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel, the Provost of the College of Medicine, acknowledged the difficulties currently facing the Nigerian healthcare sector, including infrastructure issues and the ongoing brain drain. He advised the graduates to view these obstacles as opportunities to innovate rather than reasons to retreat. He stressed that maintaining ethical integrity and pursuing lifelong learning remain essential for success in their medical careers.
