Nelly Korda trails leader Ina Yoon by six in pursuit of third consecutive major

World number one Nelly Korda is six shots behind midway leader Ina Yoon as she attempts to secure her third straight major title at the Women’s PGA Championship.

Nelly Korda currently sits six strokes adrift of Ina Yoon at the Women’s PGA Championship as she aims for a third consecutive major title. Korda, the world number one, has already secured victories at the Chevron Championship and the US Open this season. After carding a four-under 68 at Hazeltine, which included four birdies on her front nine and six concluding pars, the 27-year-old remains in the hunt.

Korda noted that leading a major by a wide margin as the tournament enters its final stages can be daunting. She recalled feeling that specific pressure during her own recent victories, where she felt the field closing in. Her strategy remains centered on taking the competition one shot at a time. Meanwhile, South Korean player Ina Yoon maintains a five-shot lead at 12 under par after following an impressive opening round with a 69. Yoon acknowledged that the final two rounds will be stressful but stated her intention to accept those nerves and stay focused on her performance. Elsewhere, Charley Hull failed to make the cut after finishing at two over par following consecutive rounds of 73.
