African Nations Advancing to the 2026 World Cup Knockout Stage

Six African teams have successfully advanced to the 2026 World Cup Round of 32, with Ghana and Cape Verde being the most recent to qualify.

Following recent tournament results, six out of the ten African nations competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup have earned spots in the Round of 32. Ghana and Cape Verde are the latest to secure their positions.

Ghana clinched their spot despite having one match remaining against Croatia, thanks to Spain’s 1-0 victory over Uruguay. Similarly, Cape Verde advanced after securing their third draw in a row, which placed them second in their respective group behind Spain. They join Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, and Cote d’Ivoire in the next round.

In contrast, Tunisia has been officially eliminated from the competition. Meanwhile, Senegal, Algeria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo remain in contention, waiting to see if their performance will be sufficient to qualify as some of the top-performing third-place teams.
