Favour Aruwa Habibatu, a final-year law student at the University of Port Harcourt, met a tragic end after traveling from Rivers State to visit her boyfriend, Michael Ade, in Warri, Delta State. Witnesses reported seeing the couple frequently in the city, describing them as having a close relationship.
Trouble emerged on a Tuesday night at Ade’s apartment on Ayidi Street. The property owner heard distressing cries for help and alerted local youths and law enforcement. The landlord managed to block the suspect’s vehicle to prevent him from fleeing the premises.
When confronted by the landlord and community members, Ade demanded access to his car, claiming he had an emergency. However, witnesses insisted he explain the screaming. Upon entering the apartment, they discovered Favour lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. Authorities later confirmed her death, arrested Ade, and transported the body to a morgue. Local residents have suggested the motive may have been related to ritual practices, though the investigation remains ongoing.
