Nollywood Star Joseph Momodu Enlists in US Army

Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has officially joined the US Army after completing basic combat training, stating that the achievement honors his late father’s legacy.

Nigerian actor Joseph Momodu has officially transitioned into military life, announcing his enlistment as a Specialist in the United States Army. This milestone follows the successful completion of 10 weeks of rigorous Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Sharing the update via Instagram, Momodu highlighted that the path to becoming a soldier was physically and mentally demanding. He described the process as a test of endurance, filled with challenges ranging from extreme weather to moments of self-doubt. Despite these hardships, he remained driven by the goal of personal growth, ultimately learning to thrive amidst discomfort.

For the actor, this career move is deeply personal. By joining the military, he is honoring the legacy of his late father, who served in the Nigerian Police Force. Momodu noted that twenty years after his father’s passing, he feels he has successfully picked up the mantle of service. He now serves with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment.

Momodu expressed gratitude toward the US Army Recruiting Station in Burbank for their guidance and dedicated his new status to his family and his roots in the Avyuele Clan of Edo State.
