A total of 1.6 million individuals have applied for open positions within the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services (CDCFIS). Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd), the Board Secretary, announced in Uyo that while 60,000 candidates reached the shortlist, only 30,000 will ultimately secure employment.
Physical screening began this past Monday across 14 locations throughout Nigeria to make the process accessible for all participants. This stage involves verifying uploaded documents and checking physical attributes, such as height, vision, and limb health, to confirm candidates meet the requirements for paramilitary duty. This phase is exclusive to those who took the computer-based assessment in November 2025.
Jibril emphasized that the process remains free of charge and warned against any corruption or irregularities. He stated that the final selection will be strictly merit-based to guarantee that the most qualified individuals are brought into the public service.
