The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently introduced a nationwide initiative focused on mobilizing women and youths. By strengthening these grassroots groups, the opposition party aims to secure at least 10 million votes for upcoming electoral cycles.
During the launch of the PDP National Youth Leadership Consultative Forum and the Female Youth Wing in Abuja, National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu emphasized the need for result-oriented political engagement. He explicitly discouraged attendees from viewing the initiative as merely a social gathering, stressing that the party intends to foster genuine political growth among young women.
Senator Anyanwu outlined a specific plan to recruit at least 5,000 female youths in every state over the next three months. He encouraged participants to utilize digital platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and WhatsApp to expand their reach and influence. The party also pledged to support women aiming for various elective positions, including local government roles and legislative seats.
Addressing rumors of internal conflict, Senator Anyanwu maintained that the party is cohesive. This sentiment was echoed by the National Youth Leader, Ambassador Ibrahim Bala-Aboki, who stated that this structured approach is essential for achieving their 10-million-vote objective.
