Two Detained Following Fatal Convoy Collision at Rivers State University

A woman named Eno was killed after being hit by a vehicle in a student convoy at Rivers State University, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

A woman known as Eno lost her life after being struck by a car in a convoy at the Rivers State University campus in Port Harcourt. The tragedy unfolded on Tuesday while the vehicles were navigating campus roads.

Witnesses reported that the convoy consisted of vehicles driven by students. Following the collision, several individuals in the group attempted to leave the area. Campus security and local law enforcement quickly blocked all exits to prevent their departure.

Officers from the Nkpolu Divisional Police Headquarters, overseen by CSP Henry Ogbuefi, worked alongside university security to apprehend two suspects: Onunaka K. and Daniel Ikechi. The pair were identified as drivers of a Toyota Camry Spider and a Mercedes-Benz E300. Both men are currently in custody at the Nkpolu station.

The victim’s body has been transferred to a morgue. University spokesperson Victor Banigo acknowledged the incident, noting that a formal statement is pending. Rivers State Police Command representative Blessing Agaba confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations remain active.
