Tehran is conditioning the commencement of final negotiations with the United States on the restoration of oil export capabilities and the unfreezing of restricted financial assets. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed significant advancements have been made in preliminary diplomatic sessions.
During a Monday briefing, Araghchi stated that the nation is currently finalizing agreements to secure export waivers for petrochemicals and petroleum products. Furthermore, the government aims to end existing blockades and regain control of capital currently held in foreign accounts. These developments stem from recent efforts to establish a structure for a more comprehensive pact and lower geopolitical friction.
The Foreign Minister explained that these temporary waivers will facilitate a return to global energy markets, allowing Iran to generate necessary revenue. By loosening these constraints, Tehran intends to integrate more effectively into the international financial system while stabilizing its energy sector.
