Swansea City midfielder Ethan Galbraith has confirmed his calf injury is resolved after being selected for the Northern Ireland squad for upcoming friendlies against Guinea and France. Galbraith had been sidelined since late March, missing the final stretch of Swansea’s Championship season.
While Swansea boss Victor Matos had expressed a preference for the 24-year-old to rest during the June window, Galbraith collaborated with both club officials and the medical staff to clear his return to international duty. The midfielder spent several weeks in solitary rehabilitation but has now been fully cleared to participate.
Addressing speculation regarding his club future, including rumors of Premier League interest and ties to Wrexham, Galbraith emphasized that his focus remains entirely on Swansea. Furthermore, he expressed satisfaction regarding manager Michael O’Neill’s decision to extend his contract with Northern Ireland until 2032. Galbraith noted that O’Neill has played a significant role in his career development.
As the squad prepares to face Guinea in Spain and France in Lille, Galbraith is also focused on supporting new, uncapped teenagers Braiden Graham and Ceadach O’Neill, drawing on his own past experiences to help them integrate into the national team setup.
