Ochonu William Okefie, the Labour Party Chairman in Benue State, has officially published the roster of candidates chosen during the party’s recent primaries for the 2027 general elections. The document was handed over by State Organizing Secretary Sam Ape and covers nominees for governor, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the State House of Assembly.
Dr. Mathias Terwase Byuan has been selected as the party’s gubernatorial flagbearer. For the upper legislative chamber, the candidates include Iyorwuese Ligom for Zone A, Richard Gbamwuan for Zone B, and Dr. Onuh Prince for Zone C. The party also unveiled a full list of representatives for various federal constituencies, including figures such as Terhemen Gyado, Fidelis Audu, and Chief Dr. Bishop Philip Agbese among others. Furthermore, the slate includes a comprehensive list of legislative contenders for the Benue State House of Assembly across all three zones.
Party officials view the completion of these primaries as a major milestone in their 2027 election strategy, stating their belief that these nominees will offer effective governance and strong representation. The release, authorized by the state executive, was signed by Sam Ape and formally presented to the media by Ochonu William Okefie.
