Human rights activist and social media influencer Justice Mark Chidiebere, widely known as Justice Crack, has claimed that Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) officials abducted and tortured him while masquerading as Department of State Services (DSS) agents.
In a post shared on his X account, Chidiebere asserted that his captors intended to cause his permanent disappearance before public outcry forced them to transfer him into formal DSS custody.
Detailing his three-day ordeal, the activist reported being kept in handcuffs and blindfolded throughout the period.
He described being subjected to extreme temperature fluctuations, including exposure to direct sunlight by day and freezing conditions at night. He maintains that he only learned his true captors were DIA personnel after his handover to the DSS.
Contrasting his treatment, Chidiebere noted that his experience at the DSS facility felt professional. Upon arrival, he was provided with medical attention, sustenance, and a place to rest.
He noted that DSS personnel refrained from physical aggression or verbal abuse, though he acknowledged that administrative processes could still be improved.
The legal action against Chidiebere follows his public advocacy regarding the welfare of Nigerian Army soldiers and his commentary on the death of a National Youth Service Corps member in Abuja. The case continues to attract significant public interest as the matter remains active in the court system.
