Abuja Court Grants Bail to Crypto Executive Blord

The Federal High Court in Abuja has approved bail for cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely recognized as Blord, after his recent detention.

Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and human rights advocate, confirmed that the court granted bail on self-recognizance, though the judge mandated that Ifejirika surrender his international passport.

Sowore had attended the hearing, noting the significance of the ruling following a period of legal pressure. The case has been marked by allegations of misconduct within the Nigeria Police Force, specifically involving the National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC).

Reports suggest that officers at the NCCC allegedly conspired with social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, to disparage the businessman.

Insiders claim a video from the detention facility was leaked to the activist to publicly humiliate Ifejirika. Sources described the footage as staged, alleging that officers rattled the suspect’s cell gate to film him in a vulnerable state.

Investigations point toward a coordinated effort involving specific officers, including Inspector Sule, to leverage custody for personal grievances.

This attempt to turn the detention into a public spectacle was partially thwarted when the court ordered that Ifejirika be held at the Kuje Correctional Centre rather than the NCCC facility. Witnesses reported that Otse followed the prison vehicle to Kuje, filming the transit to continue mocking the entrepreneur.
