The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has urged Nigerian security forces to ensure the safety of students and personnel involved in the upcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In an official statement released by Executive Director Professor Ishaq Akintola, the organization requested that the Nigeria Police, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) prioritize the protection of all individuals participating in the exam process.

The UTME, managed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), begins today.

Professor Akintola noted that this appeal is prompted by the prevailing security challenges across the nation, emphasizing that specific attention is required for examination centers in northern Nigeria.

The scheduled exam period runs from Thursday, April 16, 2026, through Saturday, April 25, 2026. MURIC stressed the need for a heightened security presence throughout the duration of these assessments to guarantee a safe environment for all stakeholders.
