Trump Threatens “Bigger and Stronger” Strikes as U.S.-Iran Peace Talks Loom
President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning that U.S. military forces will remain stationed around Iran, threatening unprecedented military action if a “real agreement” is not finalized.
In a social media post late Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the President asserted that American troops, aircraft, and naval assets will maintain their positions until a definitive settlement—ensuring the permanent absence of nuclear weapons and the total reopening of the Strait of Hormuz—is implemented.
The President’s “AMERICA IS BACK!” declaration comes during a fragile two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan.
This pause follows six weeks of intense conflict that began on February 28 with joint U.S.-Israeli strikes, a campaign that saw the death of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in its early stages.
Peace talks between Iran and the U.S. will take place in Islamabad over the weekend, with J.D. Vance set to lead the United States in the discussions, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The U.S. is demanding a total end to Iran’s nuclear program and the guaranteed safety of the Strait of Hormuz, which carries a fifth of the world’s oil supply.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that the Vice President has been a central figure in the conflict’s management since its inception and will now spearhead these high-stakes negotiations.
The world’s eyes remain on the Strait of Hormuz, where the ongoing blockade has already caused significant global economic strain.
