Nigeria Issues Safety Advisory for Citizens in Kuwait and Bahrain
The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed its citizens living in Kuwait and Bahrain to exercise extreme caution following a sharp increase in Middle Eastern regional tensions.
In a circular released on March 1, 2026, the Nigerian Embassy in Kuwait—which also oversees affairs in Bahrain—urged nationals to remain calm, avoid non-essential travel, and strictly follow the security protocols established by their host governments.
This advisory follows a weekend of significant military activity, including coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets and subsequent retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the Gulf.
To support the Nigerian community, the embassy has established a dedicated WhatsApp and mobile line (+965 9923 8835) to provide real-time updates and consular assistance.
Citizens are further encouraged to join official support groups and rely exclusively on verified government channels for information.
Nigerian authorities emphasized that missions across the region, including those in Iran, Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, are on high alert.
The government remains committed to the safety of its diaspora and has advised all Nigerians in the affected areas to steer clear of military installations and large public gatherings until the situation stabilizes.
