Actor Taye Arimoro has taken legal action against actress and producer Peggy Ovire, alleging that his rights were violated during a confrontation on a movie set earlier this month.

In a formal letter dated November 18, 2025, issued by Inibehe Effiong Chambers, Arimoro claimed that his contract expired at 11:59 PM on November 11, yet when he attempted to leave the set, he was prevented from doing so. According to him, the production manager blocked his vehicle, while another car allegedly sealed off the estate exit.

Fearing for his safety, he said he initiated an Instagram Live after receiving threats.

The situation, the letter states, worsened at the estate gate where Peggy Ovire and other individuals allegedly confronted him. His car tyres were reportedly deflated, and he found himself surrounded by several people.

Arimoro alleged he was assaulted, sustaining injuries including a fractured mandible, bruises, and bite marks. His phone, he claimed, was also tampered with during the altercation.

His lawyers argue that the incident amounted to a violation of his rights to personal liberty, freedom of movement, and human dignity with additional emotional distress and financial losses.

They are demanding two things:

  • A public video apology posted across all of Peggy Ovire’s social media platforms
  • ₦100 million in compensation for damages

Peggy Ovire has been given seven days to respond. As of the time of this report, she has not made any public statement regarding the allegations.
