Police Rescue Kidnapped Woman, Arrest Four Suspects In Ondo
Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have rescued a kidnapped woman and arrested four suspects in Akure, following a swift response to a distress alert from a vigilant citizen.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, November 6, 2025, noting that the operation was carried out after the police received a tip-off about a suspected abduction.
According to Ayanlade, a concerned resident reported that around 6:30 p.m. on November 4, four young men driving an unregistered Toyota Camry, popularly called a “Muscle Camry,” had forcibly taken a woman and were heading toward the Shoprite Roundabout in Akure.
“Acting swiftly on the intelligence, Police personnel from the Command immediately mobilized, strategically blocked the suspects’ route, and successfully intercepted the vehicle, leading to the arrest of all four assailants and the immediate rescue of the victim,” the statement read.
The victim, identified as Adebayo Oluwaseun, was reportedly abducted along Weluwelu Street, Ilekun, Oda, and was being transported to an unknown destination before the police intervention.
Ayanlade commended the quick action of the alert citizen, describing the collaboration as “pivotal in foiling what could have become another tragic case of abduction.”
The police also recovered the unregistered Toyota Camry used in the operation as an exhibit, while the four suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
“The Ondo State Police Command reiterates its commitment to the safety and security of residents and encourages the public to continue sharing timely information that can help prevent crime,” the statement added.
