Trump Warns Hamas Of “Complete Obliteration” If It Refuses To Relinquish Control Of Gaza

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that Hamas will face “complete obliteration” if it refuses to give up power and control of Gaza.

His remarks come amid renewed efforts to end nearly two years of conflict in the region. Trump recently unveiled a 20-point peace plan, which calls for the immediate release of hostages while keeping Israeli troops stationed in Gaza.

During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, the president was asked what would happen if Hamas declined to step down. Trump responded firmly, saying, “Complete Obliteration!”

Tapper also questioned Trump about Hamas’ apparent rejection of his ceasefire plan, referencing Senator Lindsey Graham’s claim that Hamas insisted on “no disarmament, maintaining control of Gaza, and linking hostage release to negotiations.” When asked if Graham’s interpretation was correct, Trump replied, “We will find out. Only time will tell!!!”

The president stated that he expects to know soon whether Hamas is truly committed to peace, adding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fully supports ending the bombing campaign and advancing the peace initiative.

Trump expressed optimism that his ceasefire plan will succeed, saying he is working diligently to make it a reality.

A day earlier, he announced that Israel had agreed to the first stage of troop withdrawal outlined in his proposal. He noted that once Hamas agrees, the ceasefire would take immediate effect, triggering a hostage and prisoner exchange.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shared with Hamas. When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will move toward ending this 3,000-YEAR CATASTROPHE. STAY TUNED!”

Last Friday, Trump declared that Hamas was “ready for a lasting PEACE” and directed Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza.” However, within hours, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 20 people. Gaza’s Ministry of Health later reported that 66 people were killed and 250 injured within 24 hours on Saturday.
