The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris on Monday night honoured some of football’s biggest names, with Arsenal’s Viktor Gyökeres and Spain’s Luis Enrique among the standout winners.

Gyökeres, who starred for Sporting Lisbon before his summer transfer to Arsenal, won the Gerd Müller Trophy as the year’s top striker, beating several of Europe’s most prolific forwards.

Spain coach Luis Enrique claimed the Men’s Johan Cruyff Trophy for Best Coach after leading his team to Euro 2025 glory, while England boss Sarina Wiegman received the women’s equivalent.

In the goalkeeper category, Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy, Manchester City) lifted the Men’s Yashin Trophy, while Chelsea and England shot-stopper Hannah Hampton made history as the first-ever winner of the Women’s Yashin Trophy.

Barcelona’s young stars dominated the youth awards, with Lamine Yamal named Best Young Male Player and Vicky López taking the women’s Kopa Trophy.

Paris Saint-Germain were crowned Men’s Club of the Year after their historic treble-winning campaign, while Arsenal Women took home the Women’s Club of the Year award.

The glittering Paris gala once again highlighted football’s global reach, with PSG, Barcelona, Arsenal, and Spain’s national teams among the night’s biggest winners.
