Popular Guyanese influencer Lola Doll is in critical condition after being shot multiple times outside her home in Georgetown late Saturday night.

Police identified the 33-year-old as Lolita Callender, who was ambushed in Texas Square, East Ruimveldt, around 11:35 p.m. According to reports, a gunman approached her parked white Mercedes-Benz on a motorcycle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Callender sustained severe gunshot wounds to her face, neck, hands, and right leg. She was rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital, where doctors say she remains in a life-threatening condition.

Her brother, who witnessed the aftermath, recounted the harrowing scene to Stabroek News. “I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out… only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out. She lost a lot of blood but she is a fighter.”

Police confirmed that one individual has been taken into custody for questioning and that surveillance footage shows a lone attacker walking up to her car before opening fire. Authorities have urged the public to provide any information that could aid the investigation, including through anonymous tip lines.

Lola Doll is well known across Guyana and the Caribbean for her provocative social media presence and appearances in music videos. Police say efforts are ongoing to determine a motive for the attack.
