Mohamed Salah Wins Record Third PFA Player Of The Year Award
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Men’s Player of the Year for 2025, becoming the first footballer in history to clinch the award three times.
Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was voted Young Player of the Year, while former England manager Gareth Southgate received the PFA Merit Award in recognition of his service to football and success with the national team.
The announcement was made on Tuesday via the PFA’s official website.
Salah, 33, was instrumental in Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning campaign, topping the league’s scoring charts with 29 goals alongside 18 assists. His individual brilliance also earned him the 2024/25 Premier League Player of the Season and the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year awards.
Reflecting on his journey, Salah said:
“Of course I wanted to be a football player and I wanted to be famous and provide for my family, but you don’t think about the big stuff when you are still in Egypt. When you grow, you start to see things differently and you start to have ambition and you start to see the bigger picture.”
Other nominees for the prestigious award included Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice.
