Tinubu Departs Abuja For Official Visits To Japan And Brazil

President Bola Tinubu on Friday departed Abuja for an official visit to Japan and Brazil, with a brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Tinubu left the nation’s capital at 11:15 am and was seen off by top government officials, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Finance Minister Wale Edun, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. Before boarding the presidential jet, he exchanged pleasantries with dignitaries who came to bid him farewell.

According to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s first stop will be Yokohama, Japan, for the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) scheduled for August 20–22. In addition to attending plenary sessions, the President will hold bilateral talks and meet with executives of Japanese firms investing in Nigeria.

From Japan, Tinubu will travel to Brasília for a two-day state visit from August 24–25 at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
