President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has applauded the remarkable achievement of three Nigerian students who emerged world champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom, describing their victory as a beacon of hope for Nigeria’s future.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu celebrated Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17), Rukayya Muhammad Fema (15), and Hadiza Kashim Kalli, who represented Nigeria against thousands of contestants from 69 countries.

Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu clinched the Overall Best in English Language Skills.

Rukayya Muhammad Fema emerged Overall Best in Debate.

Hadiza Kashim Kalli secured the Outstanding Talent Award (Gold Medal).

The students, all from Nigerian Tulip International College, Yobe State, were lauded for exemplifying the heights Nigerian youth can attain when nurtured with quality education and encouraged by their communities.

President Tinubu emphasized that their success underscores the latent brilliance within Nigeria’s education system, which, if properly harnessed, can consistently produce world-class talents. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities, noting initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund aimed at eliminating financial barriers for underprivileged students.

Former Minister of Communications, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, also joined voices urging the Federal Government to accord the students national honors and tangible rewards, suggesting they deserve a reception at the Presidency, similar to what’s accorded to sports champions like the Super Falcons and D’Tigress.

Pantami remarked, “These girls are not just students; they are ambassadors of Nigeria’s intellectual capacity. They deserve to be celebrated, not just with words but with actions that inspire other young Nigerians.”

The Yobe State Government had earlier celebrated the trio’s victory, marking a significant shift in narratives about the state often overshadowed by security concerns. Their triumph paints a vivid picture of resilience and excellence rising from unlikely places.

President Tinubu concluded his statement by urging the girls to “remain steadfast in their studies,” assuring them that their success story will serve as a catalyst for greater investment in education and youth development nationwide.
