30-Year-Old Man Arrested For Alleged R3pe And M3rder Of Mentally Ill Woman In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended a 30-year-old man, Usaini Usaini, for allegedly r3ping and murdering a mentally ill woman in Kwasangwami village, Gezawa Local Government Area.

According to police sources who spoke with security analyst Zagazola Makama, the tragic incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The suspect was said to have unlawfully entered the home of one Abdullahi Idris, aged 50, and assaulted his 30-year-old daughter, Abula Idris, who was mentally challenged.

“The suspect forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim, who later died as a result of the assault,” the source stated.

The village head promptly reported the incident to the authorities, leading to a swift police response. Officers arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Sir Sanusi General Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.

Usaini was taken into custody shortly afterward, and the police confirmed that a thorough investigation is ongoing.

In a statement, the police assured the public that justice would be pursued, and that the suspect would face the full weight of the law.
