Ex‑Vice President Sambo Dumps PDP, Joins APC
Former Vice President Namadi Sambo has formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling another major political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sambo, who served as Nigeria’s Vice President from 2010 to 2015 under President Goodluck Jonathan, was also the Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 until his vice-presidential appointment.
His defection positions him among a growing list of prominent political figures shifting allegiance to the APC as the next election cycle begins to take shape.
