‘Even in Death You Still Showed Up’ — Mohbad’s Widow Wunmi Shares Posthumous Father’s Day Tribute
Wunmi, widow of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, took to social media on Sunday, June 15, 2025, to honour him on Father’s Day.
In an emotional post, Wunmi reflected on the bond between Mohbad and their son, Liam, expressing how his presence is still deeply felt despite his passing.
“Even in death, you still show up for Liam and me. Happy Father’s Day, Imole. You’ll always be with us.”
The tribute comes nearly two years after Mohbad’s untimely and controversial death in September 2023, which sparked national outcry, investigations, and tributes across the music industry.
Wunmi’s message was met with a wave of support online, as fans and followers joined in remembering the late singer, affectionately known as Imole, meaning “Light” in Yoruba.
