Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Thailand Following Bomb Threat
An Air India flight from Phuket, Thailand, to New Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff on Friday following a bomb threat, according to Thailand’s airport authority.
The pilot of the Airbus A320 alerted air traffic control after discovering a message suggesting the presence of a bomb on board.
Phuket Airports confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its official Facebook page. Flight tracking data from FlightRadar24 showed the plane made a U-turn over the Andaman Sea shortly after departure, circling several times off the coast before returning to Phuket airport.
This scare came just a day after a separate Air India flight bound for London crashed in Ahmedabad, India, resulting in at least 265 fatalities, including both passengers and people on the ground.
