Donald Trump Responds To Biden’s Prostate Cancer Diagnosis
Donald Trump has responded following the announcement of former President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis.
After Biden’s personal office revealed he was diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer, Trump, 78, posted a message on Truth Social wishing the 82-year-old former president a “successful recovery.”
“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,” Trump wrote. “We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
Earlier on Sunday, May 18, Biden’s personal office issued a statement—obtained by Wall Street Journal reporter Ken Thomas—confirming that he received the diagnosis following a medical consultation last week.
“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” the statement said.
“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the statement continued.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”
Several other political leaders have also responded to Biden’s health announcement, including his former vice president, Kamala Harris.
