School Cafeteria Worker Arrested for Alleged Daily Sexual Encounters With Student
Jenna Woodworth, a 30-year-old employee at East Central High School in San Antonio, Texas, was arrested on May 8 following allegations of an improper relationship with a student.
Authorities discovered a photo of the teen in Woodworth’s work locker during the investigation. Both Woodworth and the student reportedly admitted to the relationship during police questioning.
According to an arrest affidavit, the inquiry began on May 7. The student claimed Woodworth picked him up from a stadium parking lot in a school-district vehicle before driving him back to campus. They allegedly entered through a staff-only entrance and engaged in sexual activity inside a storage closet.
The student told investigators they accessed the building through the cafeteria’s back door and used a kitchen cupboard for their encounters. Afterward, Woodworth reportedly washed her hands and returned to work.
Woodworth was held at Bexar County Jail and released on May 10 after posting $50,000 bail.
Charged with a second-degree felony for an improper relationship with a student. If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine under Texas law.
While the victim’s age has not been disclosed, Texas law prohibits educators and school employees from engaging in sexual relationships with students—even those over the age of consent (17)—regardless of consent.
Reports indicate that Woodworth and the student had known each other since the student’s freshman year. During a police interview, the teen stated, “[Woodworth] would get upset with me if I didn’t speak to her or acknowledge her when I was around.”
Woodworth, who had worked in the school’s nutrition department since 2011, was immediately terminated following her arrest. The school district notified parents via a letter, assuring them that “immediate and decisive action” was taken upon learning of the allegations.
The letter also confirmed that the student’s family had been informed and was cooperating with the investigation. Authorities have also involved Child Protective Services in the case.
