Leonardo DiCaprio Expands Hollywood Hills Compound with $10.5 Million Neighbor Purchase
Leonardo DiCaprio treated himself to a new Los Angeles home this Christmas, purchasing the property next door to his current residence.
The Oscar-winning actor spent \$10.5 million in an off-market deal earlier this month for his neighbor’s house, located in the celebrity-packed Bird Streets of Hollywood Hills.
Details about the home are limited, as it was never publicly listed. Built in 1963, the salmon-colored property spans over 3,500 square feet with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, according to listing records. Aerial images show a long driveway and a pool, while the home is hidden from the street behind tall hedges. DiCaprio, 48, acquired the property through a limited liability company linked to his cousin and longtime business associate, Robert Hrtica.
DiCaprio has had a contentious history with neighbors. In 2007, they filed a lawsuit accusing him of negligence during the construction of a basketball court, claiming it destabilized their property. The lawsuit was settled in 2009.
DiCaprio first moved into the neighborhood in the 1990s, buying a property from Madonna for \$2.5 million, and his current compound now spans over 5 acres across five adjoining parcels, according to Dirt, which first reported the purchase.
Earlier this year, DiCaprio sold a nearly 100-year-old Los Angeles home for \$4.9 million. He also bought Red Oak Manor, a property from musician Moby, in 2018 for \$4.19 million. His representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
