Ekiti Lifts Movement Restriction On Sanitation Day For UTME
The Ekiti State Government has announced that there will be no restrictions on human and vehicular movement during the April edition of the monthly statewide environmental sanitation exercise, set for Saturday, April 26, 2025. This decision was made to facilitate the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, ensuring smooth movement for candidates and officials. Despite the lifting of movement restrictions, residents across the 16 Local Government Areas are urged to actively participate in the sanitation exercise, scheduled to take place from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
“There will be no restriction on human and vehicular movement during this month’s exercise due to the ongoing Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination, in order to allow free movement of candidates and examination officials,” the statement read.
“Residents are strongly encouraged to actively participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their immediate surroundings, public drains, markets, and public spaces, in the interest of public health and environmental safety,” the statement added.
The government also announced that mobile courts would operate to address violations of environmental health and sanitation laws. It urged all residents to commit collectively to a cleaner and healthier Ekiti State, concluding with a call to stay dedicated to building a better environment.
“Environmental Health Officers, NGOs, and Security Agencies will be on the ground to monitor the exercise, and Mobile Courts will remain operational to address violations of Environmental Health and Sanitation laws,” the statement said.
“Let us remain committed to building a cleaner and healthier Ekiti State,” it concluded.
